WHAT THE GOOD FOLKS SAY ABOUT THE RIP CURL STEW: ” The Rip Curl Stew is a great annual Canadian event to bring together the locals and international surfers alike to compete on some of our best home breaks. Tofino is always a great time and my money is on another local winner this year!” Mel Greene -Director of Communications, Sitka “Dose.ca is proud to be involved once again with The Rip Curl Stew event in Tofino. This competition is set to become the premier surfing event in Canada.” Scott Andrews – Product Manager, Dose.ca “The Rip Curl Stew is the most dynamic local event held in Canada! It is a staple event for Local Bragging rights and The Rip Curl Stew is the only time you can surf with ProsÉAnd they’re not allowed to drop in on you!” Bill Fend -Long Beach Surf Shop *A Special Note from Drew Hakshaw, Rip Curl Stew Contest Organizer ” I’m looking forward to the Stew 4 this year. I can’t believe we have been working on this event for already 4 years! I want to especially thank all the sponsors that are involved with the event; without these sponsors this event would never happen. We have to remember why we go through all this effort each year in holding this event maybe some people have different ideas or beliefs why they put so much effort into the event, but I truly do it for the young generation of surfing. To see the young kids all get stoked on the contest and go compete against each other then at the end of the day hold up some trophies. That, to me, is why we do what we do. I would especially like to thank Rip Curl, Monster Energy Canada, The City Of Tofino, The Long Beach Lodge, all sponsors and volunteers that are involved in the Rip Curl Stew 4. Again this year you will see more Stew developments and I’m hoping the surf community of Canada enjoys the contest alongside myself!”
THE LEGACY LIVES ON…. For 40 years, Rip Curl has played a leading role in the surf industry and continues to move forward in Canada by gaining the rights, four years straight, to hold the only surf contest this summer in Tofino, BC, and one of the only Surf Contests in Canada. Yes, Rip Curl will continue to stick to the grass roots that helped make us the market leader in surfing, but we’ll also charge on into the future and push riding to a new level.
RIP CURL plans on dishing out more stew this year in Tofino and we hope to have your support. For Further Information, Please Contact: Rip Curl Canada Becky Ellis Event Coordinator firstname.lastname@example.org 604.731.9000
